Hey guys..and gals,
Noob here. Always online just never sign in or post. Anyway....
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some good suggestions for snacks that I could bring to work with me that are high in protein that don't take a lot of effort. Thanks for the input.
Cheese. You can get cheddar, colby jack, or whatever in little cubes. Kraft makes them, you can get it at any supermarket. Or you can get cheese sticks. Cheap, no mess, no fuss, and you can eat it anywhere.

Protein bars/shakes, chicken breasts, hard-boiled eggs...

High fat too. Cheese wouldn't be good for anyone concerned with maintaining or on their way to having a lean physique.

Yeah, well, your ideas have holes too. I don't think anyone in the bathroom would appreciate him eating hard-boiled eggs. You know what those things can do...

The eggs are actually another bad idea for anyone wanting to stay lean unless you only eat the whites and maybe one or two yolks.
When planning a healthy diet though, other people in the bathroom are the last of my concerns (assuming that I care at all), my body is a bit more important than their nose.:p

First of all thanks for the input guys.
Secondly, I'm already fairly lean, so I'm not as concerned with staying completely lean as much as I'm tring to add more size, and take in as much protein as I can when I can. After I get some more size going, I'll worry about cutting to get more lean again. But I guess I could try to do it right and stay lean and add size at the same time.
And you're right my body is more important than my co-workers' noses. Ha.
They'll kick your ass for stinkin' up the bathroom! I've seen it!

I've worked at this company for 5 years, and since day one I could have sworn that there were dead bodies stuffed in the walls to make the bathrooms smell like that. A few eggs won't do anything but alter the smell for the day a bit.;)

You boys might wanna do some reading. Cheese and the whole eggs are actually good for you. As a matter of fact I put my wife on atkins and we eat the hell out of cheese and eggs. Her BP droped from 165 over 95 to 110 over 85 and her cholesterale droped from 305 to 205 in less than 8 months and I have the sheets to prove it. As a matter of fact her doctor asked her what medication she was using that worked so well and she said no meds just atkins. Her Doc was impressed.
J
The drop in cholesterol was from the diet, not "eating the hell out of" cheese and eggs.

**Odwalla - makes great shakes! the 'super food' has 21grams per drink I believe. I prefer the 'future shake' seeing as it tastes better and not so vitamin'y but only 10grams in that one.
anywhere from $1.99-$2.99...Tom Thumb :D
(they have bars too...but not as quenching as the shakes!)
(Aaron may correct me on this - though from what I've gathered from my Dr's who are both in phenominal shape - on average you should intake 1gr/lb of your body weight per day - split up by 4-5 meals. To lean down *decrease fat/carb intake* and do *depending on how active you are* 22-30grams per meal 4x daily anything more does not metabolize.)
K~ :D <---adores string cheese! ;)

Preferably 5-6 (or more) meals a day to keep your metabolic rate up, but you are right on with the 1 gram per pound and no more than 22-30grams at a time. I've seen some of the bigger guys eat 1.5-2 gams per pound, but they have the muscularity to be able to utilize that much protein.

2 chicken breasts and 2 burger patties a day for me, and that's still only about 130 grams of protein:D.
You know you eat a lot when you have an overweight friend and they tell you "Damn, you eat all the f--king time!! ":D
All that I can say is Costco, 7 lbs. of chicken breast (15-17 breasts) for $12.50 is a great thing;)

I can't stand chicken breasts...ugh. I can do tuna, and I loves me some double cheeseburgers. My metabolism is a bitch to fight with.

Well, shit tuna is even less expensive, just keep sucking that stuff down. Personally I can only eat so much tuna (I've still got 2 24 can cases left before I run out).

Myoplex is great, but not a good option for anyone pinching pennies.

I didn't really like the taste of the Myoplex shakes, but the Advant Edge are pretty good. They don't have that much protein, but close and tastes better IMO.
Oh... and Wal-mart carries the Advant Edge shakes for $5.xx/pk compared to $9.99/pk. at Target.
