I've noticed I have an above average heart rate. When rested, my heart rate is usually 100-110. When on the treadmill the other day, I took my heart rate and found it to be right at 200.
The ideal heart rate for calorie burning for my age, weight, etc. should be much lower than that. Are their any ill effects for having such a high heart rate?

110 seems rather high and abby-normal.
Take your waking pulse rate in the morning and see where it is at.
On the top end, they maximum heart rate formulas are really just guidelines, everyone is different.
On the bike, using a strapped on heart monitor, I could get readings as high as 200-202 when I was outta shape and getting back into it. The formulas say I should be 190 (at the time).

That is way high for a resting rate. I am addicted to my Polar and when I started I was in the 100 range and my trainer like to of fell out. 3 years later and a 150 pounds of body fat later my resting is around 65 which is awsome. You should be shooting for around 75-85 to be decent and about 145-165 for optimum fat burn while working out. Alot depends on your age and weight. The better the shape your in the harder it is to reach your max because your heart is more efficient. Same with resting heart rate it means your heart is stronger there fore less beats to accomplish the same efficiency.

If you notice that it really is that high and there is nothing to do about it, GO SEE A DOCTOR. If that is your resting heart rate then you could have something very wrong with your heart.
That high of resting pulse is a sure fire way to die early in life:(
