Finished up with the Hatch last nite

I got the C4 install finished up and it runs pretty good. Alot different to drive than the 5 speed, but still alot of fun.

Definitely a less violent ride without the boost coming on and going away between shifts. It's just mash the throttle and go.

The project turned out really nice. The homemade mount for the shifter allowed me to put it under the stock boot and bezel. I cut a couple of little slits for the reverse lever and the shift trigger.

We fabbed up a single exhaust from the downpipe and connected a Dynomax Bullet muffler with a turndown underneath the car. It's pretty loud, it's not really a sleeper anymore. It sounds pretty sick actually.

When I get on the throttle the RPMs shoot to about 5200 rpm and the boost comes up right away and the car pulls pretty good. It moves about 300 - 400 rpms between shifts. I'm only running 10 PSI right now, so we'll see how it acts when I turn it up. It might act a little different. I'm not sure exactly what a performance auto is supposed to act like, but I think so long as it's picking up speed, not shooting to the redline, and not dropping a ton of RPMs between shifts then I'm on the right track.

For some reason the auto makes the car feel like it weighs less.... LOL.

It feels stronger with less boost, I know that. The better flowing exhaust is helping out too, I'm sure.

I am curious to see how it does now.. I am really considering changing my exhaust.. maybe even to 3.5 all the way back..

Tony, its just a box that is slightly larger than the shifter itself, with holes drilled in the bottom of it. Then bolts were passed up though the box and shifter, and the head of the bolts were tack welded to the bottom of the box. The nuts then secure the shifter to the box....

The box was provisioned with a groove for the cable.

Then a metal plate with a hole just slightly larger than the box was made, and the box was slid into the plate and we mocked it up to see how it would sit in the console / boot /bezel.

Then just mark it, pull it out and weld it up.

After the fact, I had to channel the back of the bezel with a Dremel, to allow for the travel of the handle into 3rd.

Other than that, it was plug and play.

Good heavens, no..... I fully intend to make a 15 psi pass.

I may need to play with some 2 step stuff or something. On the transbrake it builds all the boost I have dialed in, with no pills in the 2 step (I don't have any pills right now). I don't know if I have enough tire to handle a 15 PSI launch....

I am actually working a deal for one right now, but may not get it till Saturday.......It is going to be interesting to see if the brake duct inlet will clear the trailer. I might have to modify it if I get this used trailer but the new one I am looking at will work just fine......I just have to order it. :(

It runs decent for the 4 boltons it has just think I need about a 3K stall, some suspension tweakin to realize the full benefit of sticky rubber, were wanting to take it low 8's without n20 before we add boost. I know you guys work on a lot of peoples car, if you come across anyone wanting to get rid of some 4.10's let me know. c-yall saturday.

NO PROBLEM!!!! I know you have an auto but I think with the stall, a shift improvement and just basic bolt ons you could get there no problem on some ET streets or drags. I did it with a 5spd, o/r H and u/d's with some ET streets (8.2's) and I can't shift for shit.:D

I'll be out there on 7psi.. Probably not going to turn it up, just gonna see how 7psi feels leaving off the transbrake. Look forward to meeting some of you guys...
