Behold the new LS2!
http://www.maximum-cars.com/temp/vette/X05CH_CR044.jpg
A new LS2 6.0-liter small-block V-8 is the standard engine in the 2005 Corvette C6. It is based on GM’s new Gen IV small-block family of engines.
The LS2 raises the bar for standard performance in the Corvette, delivering estimated peak output levels of 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. It is the largest, most powerful standard small-block engine ever offered in Corvette.
I wonder how much will it really put out?

Don't know. Hopefully, it's just an aluminum 6.0 block with the same architecture as the LS1 with a different name so that parts are interchangeable.

Sweet, if Z06s with a cam and exhaust can do 420rwhp, maybe this one will do 450rwhp. Should be fun for someone who can afford it.

I can answer that... Bass Pro shops offered me the LS-2 option when I bought my new boat. It was a bit pricy so I opted for the 3 prong anchor instead.....:D

how much are the new C6's going to be? the body change is nice, and hopefully they've done a better job on the interior.

Cam position sensor is in the front, so it will use a new cam design.
The LS1-based cams use a cam position ring that's in the rear.
So, the days of the $450 cam are here for the LS2.

Have you guyz checked out the new MT issue? It has the specs for the new mustang and the new vette...the regular vette ran a 12.5 in the 1/4 which I think was a 1/10th of a second slower than the 04 z06 commerarative edition they tested a couple of months back! Wow and we all know MT drivers suck ass! I wonder what they really run!:D
