bottom end (crank, rods) go 5.99?
1993 351W Truck motor.
Stock Crank
+.030 Block w/girdle
Forged pistons
pollished rod beams with ARP's
I know the turbos will make the power..But will the rotating assembly take it?
Time shall tell.....

'93 block is thin walled
Hope you've got some filler in there. :D
Good luck man! Can't wait to see what it does run.

Sure, but the car will be lagging behind the crank by a few lengths!

... I was curious.. How much power does it actually take to get a 3300# car to go 5's

With some luck, small bit and pieces of your block will take out both turbos.

well I hope that is NOT the case.. but It could happen. On the other hand.. I dont spin the motor very hard at all.. 6000 is all it sees... so hopefully it will NOT boom bitch. :o

Haven't you gone 6.0's ? How much power was your car making then?
Now that I think about it, I am not all that sure my car weighs that much ......

5.94 @ 119 best time. I don't know how much power my car is making, this is just a mathematical formula based on weight and mph through the traps. This calculates to 750-800 hp at the wheels, but I dunno for sure.....My car weighs 3250 with me in it...
I also haven't ran the car in the cool weather yet, it should pick up some now.....a stock block is on borrowed time at this power level....

I thought I read somewhere that you were running 50# injectors? hmmm.. Yeah.. I figured as much with a stock block - I built my motor/turbo kit with the intentions of building a "race" motor in the near future... but I have also seen W motors with stock parts run 9.7's for a couple of years..(Mike Sitar for example) So I figure what the hell.. If he can.. So can I.

Yes, I run 50's (stock computer) and am limited to about 15-17 psi....I also have a very small wet shot to introduce more fuel and cool the intake charge...me needs DFI!

YIKES ! I am getting rid of the 50's today! I just ordered my new MAF and other parts... I should get DFI too but the MAF was cheaper at this point :) I guess you are running a Tweecer, right?

You could get there with 700 to the wheels with the right converter and traction.

Yup, that's about all you can hope for. The block will split before the crank goes south (or north!)....Get a Dart or "R" block and start worrying about your crank.

Yeah...get a Dart block:) I happen to have one that is for sale!
I think it will do it, just not very long.

Still doing it. The Dart block is a spare I had....I've had it for a year, doubt I will ever use it. I figure if I sell it, that should pay for a cheap rebuild for the TA. As of now, I'm more interested in the LS1 stuff vs the Mustang stuff:)

If the block does survive..that neat-o A/F curve you posted is gonna blow dat motor sky high! ;)

Like I said in that post - The boost controller was not hooked up correctly. Now it is.. if you will notice the second graph it is rich as hell..

a "thin wall" 351 is still beefier at .060" over than a roller 302 block is at .030"
a .030" over late 351 block should hold 800hp without much trouble in a turbocharged application.

Yeah.. I agree..and most people here dont understand the other strenght differences between a 302 and a 351W.
No matter what.. We will see just how much a "stock bottom end" will go. ;)
the stock bottom end is stronger than the block

you should look at this (http://www.toohighpsi.com/DragRadial/drspecifications.htm) and then this (http://www.toohighpsi.com/DragRadial/drtimeslips.htm) - So I would say that it could most likely be done... I think some where on that same page he goes on to say that the motor has been together for 2 years....
I thought this was a 302 based motor. I don't know what 351 stock rods can handle, I'd like to know to. The crank and blocks have been 8's.

well.. I hope the rods can hold up to the abuse.. that is really my only worry.. we will find out soon enough... I guess if it blows I will finally get the 408 I always wanted.
