i have a friend that keeps getting this error "virtual memory is low" i ve done some research on the net to try and see if i can find a fix, but there are several different answers. Anybody on here have any ideas?

operating system is windows xp, with 128mb of ram.

im not sure what chipset its running, and i have checked the page file size and its double the ram. its set at 192mb min. and 384 max. Do you think raising the max page file will help? i read this article about a application accelerator for intel chipsets, anbody else read about it.

any suggestions?

thanks:D

128mb of RAM is pretty low for an XP install..

I run 320mb and never see any issues..

128mb on XP isnt too terrible but on a box here at work I was setting up it was tolerable until I loaded the antivirus client then it was pretty well unbearable. RAM is so cheap I cant see why anyone doesnt at least have 256mb

You can safely double the VM without any adverse issues. Just use the custom size settings, mine are set to 768 and 1536 but I do have a 60GB HD and 1GB or RAM.
