Give it hella torque
It's like n2o for diesel.

no it's not... it's like extra fuel... and since injectors for PSD's are fucking outrageous, I could see using propane...
propane = extra fuel, nitrous = extra oxygen...
lots of diesel guys use nitrous on their trucks if their turbo is too small... for extra oxygen... to keep EGT's down (and make more power)
so... propane isn't like nitrous to a diesel... nitrous is like nitrous. :p

ok, i guess i see what it is, but doesnt sound like extra fuel would make that big of a difference even if psd's have small ass injectors, would a rich a/f ratio help that much?

turbo diesels aren't like a gas motor... their peak power A:F ratios are nuts... that's why they smoke like a friggin' freight train when they're really making power...
typically one of the first things you do to a turbo diesel to make more power is add fuel... this increases the boost... eventually you'll get to a point where your turbo can't keep up and EGT's will skyrocket... so you need to upgrade the turbo or add nitrous.
propane helps because it adds fuel that is also nice and cold... the lower charge temps result in lower EGT's than if the fuel just came from straight #2
but saying propane is like nitrous for a diesel is a bit of a misnomer and a little pet peve of mine...

Is that a 4x4? (not familiar with f-350s) That thing was sweet... wonder what kinda #'s he has and how big a turbo he's running

because that truck has a Cummins in it... the dude posts on TDR... the truck went 11.22 @ 120 yesterday morning... no propane, no nitrous, just straight #2
truck makes 800+ hp to the wheels on #2... that ain't gonna happen w/ a powerchoke

Cummins by no means kick ass. I am a diesel machanic for FedEx freight, that same shit ass ISB cummis in the dodges are the same peices of shit we have in our fleet of FL-70s I have 7 of them behind the shop that need new head gaskets. All we use are cummins in both are city and road fleet. either the ISB, ISM, M11 plus, or the new ISX EGR engine. The best thin I can say about a ISB first hand is that its great at keeping the weeds down in your yard if you park it over them from all the oil dripping from the blow by tube.

he doesn't have an ISB in that track... it's a real Cummins... 12 valve...
when I say Cummins, I don't mean overvalved engines...
kinda like when people talk about fast mustangs, they're talking about small blocks, not modulars... ;)
you're not implying that a powerchoke would be capable of those numbers, are you?

Forrest I owe you a big appology I didnt see where you said it was a 12 valve. Those are indeed a hell of a motor. I should completely read something before I pop off about it.
My bad, the 24v is the detuned ISB.

hell no only thing powerstroke has going for it is they can make tons of torque. If the would gust hurry up and drop the 400 staight 6 dt in the fords then they could give the 12v a run.

I wish Ford would put a 6 in their 3/4-1 ton trucks... hell, they put the cummins in their F650-F800's, I don't see why they wouldn't offer it in their 250-550's
they make a better truck than Dodge... they wouldn't be able to keep them on the lot!
I don't care who made it, Cat, detroit, etc... just make it a 6!!!
