Alrighty folks, here’s the skinny on the Forced Performance Dyno Day for DFWStangs.net set for November 29th , 2003 starting at 9:00 A.M.

First off all cars will be welcome. Forced Performance is a mainly Mitsubishi shop but is starting to branch into Ford and Chevy Performance, hence their generosity in use of their dyno. They started sponsoring Manny Alvarez and his car recently and are going to try and have his car come out to peg the dyno!

Now for the details. Each car will be allowed three pulls or 30 minutes, whichever comes first. Minor geeks and tweaks are fine as long as they fall in line with the above. We want to try and get as many cars done as possible to make it fair for everyone. All runs will be accompanied with a printout. The only charges will be as follows:

$20.00 - hookup charge.
$5.00 - if you want a wideband monitor on your run. Will come with printout.

I spoke with both Scott and Robert and they seem very pumped about getting us all out there and putting there name out there in the Mustang scene here in DFW. They have no issues with BBQ’s and the like being brought out. Only request is ZERO alcohol. This is just to make sure things run smooth and there are no issues for anyone involved. Race gas will be onsite for those who need it.

C-16 – $8.50 a gallon
B-33 – $7.50 a gallon

I wanted to post their normal rates so you can get an idea of what kinda break they are giving us.

$120.00/hr for wideband and tech.

Thanks to all for getting me the info that have. razastang and fordracing, I still need you to email me your actual names and cars bring brought. When talking with Forced Performance we agreed that having a couple of people in the wings would be a good idea to fill up the spaces for those people who will enivitably not show. Please email me or post up if you'd like to be on the on-call list. Everyone showing up should have a blast. i would also like to see if anyone is up to being a BBQ or has a hookup for pizza, burgers, or the like in the area for lunch, let me know so we can get things going. I'll have a cooler for soda, water and a jug for iced tea. Post up some idea for what y'all would like to bring.

Forced Performance is easy to get to for those that don't know where it's located. Just get to highway 75 and highway 380 intersection and go east on highway 380(toward Greenville). You will go through about 6 stop lights(maybe 7), then it is wide open for a bit. The speed limit goes up from 40 mph to 60 mph, then you can see a stop light at the base of a hill. You take a right at this stop light(New Hope Rd. if I remember right). Forced Performence is on your right in a building with some big bay doors all by itself. You can't miss it. If you go more than about 1 mile down the road then you've missed it.

Total, you are looking at maybe a 8-10 minute drive from 75 and 380.

It is the road right around the gun range on 380. The road sign doesn't say New Hope it has some FM road or something, but there is a green sign that points north that says New Hope _ miles. I hope that made sense.

FM1827 aka New Hope Rd W. If you come in N on 75 from Plano/Allen, exit to hwy 5/121 W, continue 3-4 miles to hwy 380 (past hospital and airport), take right on 380 towards Princeton/Greenville, about 3 miles out of town is FM1827, take left.

If coming from N of McKinney on 75, take exit for hwy 380 east.

I was afraid Fred was gonna break this dyno also, so I had saladbar dyno mine again Friday after going to the friggin VA.
I gained 15hp and 10ft/lb from a catback and a catted X and didn't lose any bottom end!
But that's $60 per hp!:eek: :eek: :eek:

Nice meeting everyone who showed, hope we can do it again. Enough people no-showed so there was time enough to help get a couple of cars straightened out, which is nice to see. I'd much rather see someone make good use of the tool (dyno) rather than just strap on once to get a number.

Want to see Fred's car run when the bugs get worked out.

BTW it was a good day to get a good dyno number, temps never hit 72F, baro was 30+ and humidity was stupid low. First time we've ever seen a negative correction factor applied.

my numbers sucked ass, but i also had a lot of things wrong on the car that couldnt be fixed today...best numbers were 393 hp 441 trq...i was hoping for more, but if thats what it takes to run the times i am running, i am happy enuf...

nice to meet evryone i met today. the people at forced performance were super nice and informative. With some jet changes i gained 24 hp and 38.5 tq. I cant wait to get to the track to see the improvements. Thanks to saleen09 for arranging the day.

I ended up leaving at 1:00 to get some lunch. Unfortunatleyu I had to head back to the metroplex as my grandfather fell and I was needed else where. I was very eager to see fred's car run and some others. Seems like ya'll were just as impressed with the shop as I was. Nice nice setup. Thanks to robert, robert, and Scott. I will be heading back out to get my 10# setup dialed in here in a week or two max.

Sorry I had to bail.....kinda hard to drive out there when the car doesn't run worth a crap, I've spent the last two days sorting out what the problem is. And my friend was helping me the whole time, spent the majority of today fixing vaccuum leaks and redoing intercooler piping connections. What sucks is that it will probably be running fine again tommorrow. Oh well, next time one of these things is put on you can bet on me being there. Probably with the boost turned up a little bit;)

Thanx! Your car put down more power than I thought it would!! And your's keeps pulling hard all the way to redline! Yeah, it'd be cool for us to line up next to each other sometime! I gotta get more fuel though before I will do anything like that. Running 12.8:1 air/fuel at redline is just a bit too lean for me to be comfortable with.

True...But the problem lies on your transmission. Auto.. The automatic tranny on the Focus ZX-3 was designed for economical driving, not performance. My ZX-3 had a 5 speed, but the car SUCKED! It was pathetic in the curves. I guess the 205/65/15's didn't help either, lol. Good luck on your car!

The torque is what makes them lots of fun, and pretty quick. Yesterday, the car put out over 200 ft lbs at the front wheels from 2350 rpm till 6250 rpm(rev limit). The car put out over 250 ft lbs at the front wheels from 2600 rpm to 5500 rpm!!

Unfourtunately, you guys that drive Focus's will do laps around me in the twisties since my car has a MAJOR problem with putting power to the ground in the slow corners. 205/50/17 tires and an open differential don't exactly help either.

I test drove a SRT/4 for a while, so I'm pretty familiar with the car. I was impressed with it, Mopar did a badass thing T-Charging that damn thing. It wasn't as good as the SVT in the curves, but with the addition of the Differential, I think we're (SVTF) screwed now.:(

yeah this auto is craptastic but i can't believe you think the focus is pathetic in the turns. it's one of the best handling cars in it's class in stock form. put some aftermarket suspension goodies on it and you'd be amazed what this car can do. maybe your experience was due to driver error :p
