I did the GM Auto show in Motion today. Every car but the Z06 and H2, you could drive on your own, with out a GM passanger. The Z06 and H2 required a GM passanger.
In the Z06 there was a “professional race car driver” as they called them selves in the car with you.
The start was a short straight away, when my “professional race car driver” told me when to shift! When the tack was at 3500 RPM he told me to shift! I ignored him, and he continused to yell shift, I finaly gave in and shifted at about 4500 RPM, as soon as I hit 2nd gear he reached over and held the shifter in 2nd for the entire rest of the course. I tried to drive it just like I would drive my own car on any other auto cross course. The entire time he told me “take it easy” “this is not your car” “treat it with respect”.
The track was one straight away, then an easy left turn, with another straight away, then another easy left followed by an easy right, no turn was more than 45degrees and a VERY wide course.
I wasn’t expecting anything more than that kind of course, but I was at least expecting the “professional race car driver” to let the car be driven. I drove the GMC Denalli harder than this guy would let me drive the Z06.
Other than the Z06 guy, it was fun. I beat on a Lexus IS300 really good. The entire team working the 'passanger car' area smilled and said they like to see that kind of driving.

If he held it in second for you, whats to keep you from just slamming the pedal down? Once he did that, I wouldve started to fuck with him even more. gas, gas, brake, gas, gas, brake, gas, brake, honk!

Oh, I held the pedal down, I still kicked ass on the course, with the whole time he saying all that BS.

they were here at TMS, just a few weeks ago. you could drive any car as many times as you wanted, but the H2 and Z06, you could only drive once, and with a passenger... although, i can't say that i would be any different, if i were GM. if you wreck that car, then they have to put a new one out there, and they're probably going to get sued, even though you have to sign the waiver.

jesus, I would of just slammed the brakes and got out of the car mid track. Or steped in on the clutch and floored it until he lost his composure. For allthey know everyine who gets in the car is a potential buyer, you woudl think that they would let them stretch the cars legs a bit, im not talking about letting them go 100+ mph but at least let them floor it for a second or two.

Man that sucks Russ. I went to the one at TMS and the passenger in the Z06 was cool with me. I took it to redline and halfway powershifted 2nd, and the guy said "now thats what I am talking about".
