I have a SoundStream amp I'm wanting to mount in the trunk but I'm not sure what would be best option. Obviously space is at a premium on a convertible and I don't want to have it just laying on the floor of the trunk. I also don't want to mount the thing to the metal framework directly. I'm thinking of some kind of "amp" board and something prefereable with a fan as I'm concerned about ventilation and keeping it cool. Don't have the spec's on the amp but I'll post that up later.

Any idea's?

im in the same boat.. but atleast mines a coupe.. 98 stang.. i have my amp and box in the back..just mounted to a fake bottom thing i made.. it works but sucks for managment of getting to the spare.. but my buddy scott (*blacksn95) has a 95 triple black gt convertable..which he is currently putting a system in.. its going where the back seats go..and then the seats go on top of it.. its pretty slick.. drop him a line.. his name again is blacksn95

hey jose, w/ a little time I could fab a nice discrete little mount for you, hit your wires and everything. Ive done it several times in stangs. Ask zoggy about my last setup..

Some people mount the amp inbetween the back seat and the trunk where the top hydrolics are.

hey hey, scott.. i turned my box around..so the front faces the seats..that way the blue lights up the inside of the car instead of the trunk.. and that way the wires are to the back of the box.. i was thinking of builiding a back piece that holds the box in place..while being able to mount my current and future amp to.. and this way..also hide all the wires..so i have one complete unit basicly.. give me a hollar sometime..btw.. 2 days ago..someone hit my car..now i have a baseball size dent on the front right fender.. :/

Holy shit dude, sorry to hear about that fender, what a bitch! BTW, i spent ALL day fiberglassing my new box, and its going to be awesome I can allready tell. Once I either fab a new seat or gut a stocker, the job will be done. Both sides have approx .45 - .65 cubic feet sealed. This should work well w/ the DVC's according to the spec. Give me buzz on my new cellie 972.742.7481, come check it out while the seat/box is out of the car. TTYS...

evil jose, come to bux on thursday, ive just mounted mine in a cool way thats perfect for a vert, it was easy and its not mounted to any metal. Whats funny is that I would never have imagined this could be a place to mount an amp. I think you'll like it, and you'll only need 4 bolts/washers/nuts. This way, btw, gives 100% use of trunk w/ no loss of space.
