What works well on Stainless Steel?

what is it? For my stainless steel tailpipes i use steel wool but its the #000 extra fine. It works pretty good. There is probably something better out there but i havent found it yet. You can get this at any home depot in the paint section. Comes in a bag with 16 pads and its only like $2-3. If anyone knows of something better post it up i would like to know. :)
