I really would like to race fair up there, but if I go balls out during qualifying they may make me stop racing or DQ the car and not let me run in the finals.

Not that I am really hauling ass or anything, but I would like to open it up and see what it will do in the 1/4 a few times, then turn it up just a tad for the final.

Or, just make one run balls out, and if they don't say anything, try it again, then stop. Then race in the final balls out.

Or, sandbag all day then haul ass in the final, but that's kinda not fun... but at least it would be a win for the Ford guys, unless I fuck it up like last year .... LOL

What should I do?

At the OK Buick site, they are commenting that it will be a "don't ask don't tell" situation with tech..

Don't go asking if your car is legal, and they won't boot you..

The Buick camp is very into the "GN's are streetcars, we won't put cages in them if we can help it"

details on the time, I've been there a few times but I don't remember the roads to the track.

Hi Todd

Heya..

Take HWY 9 east to HWY 77 South if you go all the way to Norman.. if you get off in Purcell, take HWY 77 North from Purcell, and you'll see the entrance to the track on HWY 77...

I'll see if I can find a map.. I'll be there with friends on Saturday..

Man.. you guys don't turn this into a sandbagging, Christmas tree burndown, tech tattle-tale fest..

Some of us drive a bit for this event, and wouldn't appreciate that kind of behavior.

I guess it all depends on the tech guys !

BTW there is a 7 sec no burndown rule this time.I think they are also planning a no sanbag rule like no faster that .15 off your dial.I am not sure but there has been some discussion. Why not run balls out from the get go and race a Buick in the same ET range?Sounds more sportsman like to me.

Whats this no breakout bullshit? Does it occur to anyone that SOME PEOPLE go out there and milk the hell out of their tune for that final race. I went .3 faster last year from leaving on my transbrake and adding two degrees of timing. Should I feel guilty because I didn't do that in qualifying? Thats stupid.

I agree with you AlP,I do the same.I rarely have the chance to go to the track, especially a 1/4 mile track.I have been tuning my car and still have some in it I'm sure so I will be milking everything I can squeeze out too.I am just going to have some fun and see what I can pull off.I am not sure about the break out rule, but I was just warning that it has been mentioned.I guess we all will see at the meet.:)

I think a full second would be more reasonable..

3 tenths is traction, or not missing a shift, etc..

I hope the 60 yr. old GN staff do not impose some breakout rule, this would ruin the race and ruin my and many other DFW stangs support of the race. If we wanted to bracket race, then we would go to the local Sunday race and bracket race the opposing chevy truck. You guys need to simply do the math, the team with the fastest total group of cars will win, notwithstanding a few true sandbaggers. I was told by a famous GN guy 3 years ago that, "dis motor came out of a 9.80 car" when he had just qualified with an 11.70. TURBOTODD, hows it goin! Try to stay out of this until you have a car to even push down the track boy!!! HAHA, see ya Saturday man!! AND CANARYASS, you are GAY.
