View Full Version : I'm not sure I want to race StangTamer until...

He gets his junk legal for the track. I mean, I don't want a battery or a nitrous bottle or a seat or anything else flying over into my lane and hitting my car or anything.

Does anyone else think that is a good reason to back out?

I don't mind racing him, but I don't want to put my life or my car at risk.

It won't matter he'll be behind you!

after reading about his trip to the track, you have a good point...but then again if all that shit flies out of his car, i am sure you will be way ahead of him and it wont bother you any way...:D

He has more diamond plating he can strap stuff in with. Don't worry that tank isn't going to come apart anytime soon.

Just get one of those external cages and you'll be fine.

Stangtamer's plan is - once he's at the 330' mark he will begin to jetison any parts that are just adding useless weight. Battery, bumper, headlights, helmet, gas tank, springs, etc...

I don't know which is worse, having a battery hurled at you or burning up in an electrical fire. :D

What about having a battery hurled at you, ducking to miss it and getting Andrew's blower belt wrapped around your neck AND burning up in an electrical fire!!!

Cmon tamer, you going to defend yourself or what??!!

Hey, if you don't feel safe racing me, I'm not going to blame you for not. But, if you do race me then you take the chances, so don't blame me if anything does happen(though I don't think anything will). I will have the battery in the back this week if that helps though. I will also have new slicks this week. What else is it going to take for me to have my car safe enough?

10 point certed cage, competition driver's license, firewall between you and the fuel cell, driveshaft loop, helmet, fire jacket, fire pants, gloves, window net, etc.

I don't understand why anything other than a safety loop would concern you. Sure, I need to get all of that other stuff but that is not going to protect you, it is only going to protect me.

You need a 5 point harness and a neck collar too. I'm sure there's some other stuff I'm forgetting though.

I still don't see how that stuff will keep you any safer. It will me, but not you.

I think his poit is that you have already showered the track with parts before, and if you had all that other done the car would be better put to gether if you went to the time to do all that. Oh and did Donald tie down the battery for you?

I know where that external cage in that pic is. Tamer, let me know if you need it.

I agree with Tamer...I can see getting a loop, but other than that, the things Andrew mentioned don't seem to be valid concerns for his own safety.

I think you both need to stop finding excuses and just race dammit! We're all getting old here!

Yeah, that was my fault. But, I tried to line up with you, without ever making a clean n2o pass. So, it is not like I am making excuses.

damn this battery shit is getting hilllllarious...I did witness a few runs of the 'tamer's (the 6.76 and the battery ejector run.)...........I am not biased in any way.. but Chad.. I just dont see you going faster than 6.1x's - especially withouth some suspension mods.. it looked to me like the rear of the car is waaaaay to stiff.. it was hopping around like a bunny rabbit.:(

The reason it was hopping around was because the the n2o safety switch kept activating on and off. The 6.76 was on motor and the shitty passes were on the bottle with moreless Co2.lol Trust me after the battery throwing pass, I know I will be in the 5's.(yeah I know it was only about 30ft of a full throttle pass, but it was hairy:D )
