LOL!! Well the first two passes were nitrous attempts with the 300shot fogger. As you saw they sucked.:o The first pass I ran a 7.03 @ 88 banging out and getting in and out of the throttle. We got the car back to the pits and saw that the fuel pressure was running at 3lbs at an idle!! So we pulled the fuel filter off to see if it was clogged up and it looked fine. Then all of the sudden, for no logical reason the fuel pressure was back up. So, I went back up to make a second attempt and ran a 6.88 @ 99. When I floored it and mashed the button it just started to bang out so I just let out and ran it on motor. I was pretty pissed by then because the fuel pressure was back a 3psi. So I was like screw it, I'm just going to bump the timing and run it on motor to see how bad it runs with 3psi of fuel (Because by this time I was thinking my gauge might be bad). So we bumped the timing to 38 total and I just left the colder plugs(for n2o) in that were only gapped at .035.lol I made a nice full pass and ran a new best of 6.76 @101.58 on motor.:D That turn the what seemed like a worthless night turned into a not so bad night. So, it looks like my fuel gauge is bad and that the problem has got to be that the nitrous in my bottle (that was filled about two years ago) is flat out bad. We(46 fever and Relinquished) were trying to get the car ready and ran out of time to get the bottle for the filling station to get some fresh fills. Hopefully that is the problem, because I am lost unless the fuel pressure isn't set proper due to the bad gauge. We'll find out tomorrow hopefully.

after the comp 140 fuel filter o-ring broke i had to bypass it an zip tie the dam pump to make it reach the fuel line to the carb
oh well i guess that is racing

If it is a comp140, they have a internal bypass inside them.. I had a similar problem.. what happens is this : the little brass plug under the nut (on the side of the pump) has a rubber gasket on it.. after alot of use and/ or sitting around with fuel in it - it begins to stick.. that is the internal bypass part of it..
there are two things to do to remedy this.. one is to take out the brass plug and check the rubber washer I mentioned..clean the brass plug with a piece of scotchbrite and reinstall it..this will work till it sticks again (mine lasted for another year or so)

the other remedy is to make a spacer so that when the screw/nut on the outside of the pump is tightened up all the way it intentionally bottoms out the brass plug.. this eliminates the bypass function of the pump. the only problem is you will need some sort of return.. but rest assured it will have plenty of fuel pressure..

oh BE careful with the spring.. it is tiny.

hope this helps

The pumps new come with the plug to bypass the spring setup, they where a silver piece of aluminum tubing, but in the instructions they said to only use if you are running a return style regulator.

Good run by the way!

Mine are pretty old, at least 5yrs, and both had them in the kit. They where in a little envelope. I used them on mine and it does make the fuel pressure go up, but I have a return style system on my car though.

There is also a screen right in the inlet on the Comp 140 that you might have forgot about, it WILL clog up easily, I would check that first. It is right in where the inlet fitting screws in.
