Leaving Sonic tonight. I had a Lexus SC300 coming flying passed me after finished turning left. I heard the blow off when he shifted. The light up ahead turned red and he was having to stop. So, I sped up to get to the stop before it turned green. I beat the guy there. I look over and he is grinning. Then he points forward and motions forward with his head. I nod in agreement.
I knew the place where we were at sucked for tractions, even so more with my 4.10s and regular 275/40 street tires. So, the light turned green and we ease out. By the time I hit 3k rpms, I hear the turbo whin, I'm on it. My tires bust loose and I hold the thottle at 6k rpms until it catches and run out to 7k. I hit 2nd with a 2-3 second scratch and still spinning. The Lexus is falling behind now. When I get to third gear, the tires chirp. I finally have good tractions and I pull away hard.
We exchanged thumbs up. He turned around, probably went back to Starbucks where the ricer croud is.
He'll probably tell everyone, that he almost beat a 2003 Cobra.
 Just like everyone else's story when they meet me on the road.

how interesting, 5spd sc300's are very rare, and one that was converted to turbo is prolly a nice ride. kinda like a real comfortable supra.
which means .........YOU BEAT A SUPRA!!!

Well, I would doubt that it had a supra engine. Which means no low compress, then a turbo with probably low boost. Nothing like the supra I raced that the guy said it was pushing 21psi. When I hit third against the supra, it was gone!

He probably just had one of those "Whoo Whoo" exhaust wistles. You almost got beat by a NA 6.

cams, pistons, head, intake, Oil squirters and basicaly the whole long block:) beside the crank, rods and i think the valves:)
also. just for the record.. the fe sc300 turbos i know running around here are pushin 350-450 rwhp... except a few who pushed 450+ on a GE block. and then the ones making big power with a GTE block and a single.. 290 rwhp is no where near enough to walk a turbo sc300.. are you sure you heard a blow off?
heh..

I think it was silver. It was dark, a couple of days ago and I have drank beer since then.
I have been looking for it, so I can ask him what the setup is.

There is a red one that looks bone stock around the Garland/Plano/Richardson area. He came up to Skoots when a bunch of us were there. It's an older guy who drives it.
