What do you guys think about renting out Hallsville and having a cruise out there? The guys out in East Texas make the trip to Dallas all the time to hang out with us and I feel that we should return the favor and hang out on the turf for a weekend. What do you guys think?

OK, how does everyone feel like paying $40-50 to race all day with a limited amount of cars and maximum track time?

AdamLX
10-15-2001, 01:19 PM
fine for me, just no 90° heat :D

That's what I was thinking to. Maybe 3 or 2 weeks before so people can do some tuning but still have time to fix anything that might break.

If 'limited' is limited, then I'd pay that.

bert89coupe
10-15-2001, 09:11 PM
1/4 mile. us East Texas boys don't like the 1/8 shit.

runin90lx
10-15-2001, 11:20 PM
that sounds like an awesome idea to me...too bad hallville's track isnt nowhere near as nice as denton..but its 1/4mi and legal to race haha....im down for the plan

for those interested...we are having a street race day on nov 4th at hallsville's track...if you want more details go to www.oldwestracing.com there is a link at the top of the page.

What kind of a drive are we talking here? Miles? etc...from a general Dallas area standpoint.

10-15-2001, 11:52 PM
When BOOSTED N JUICED came from Dallas I believe he said it was about an hour and a half to 2 hours. Don't know how many miles it is though.

it takes me about 1hr 15-20min to get to the MMCM in richardson..and i live about 15 min from the track..so i'm saying about 1 1/2 hr or so

bill- but that's from tyler.

Rock- nice meeting you on saterday, i was the one sitting to your left next to you at hooters.

from my g/f house in dallas its about 125-130 miles to my house and driving the speed limit it takes about 2hrs-2hr and 15min. Plus add about 15min to get to hallsville.

I thought Hallsville was a lot nicer than Denton.
Plus it is faster than any track in the Dallas area! I never hear people complaining about the prep like I have heard about Ennis all the time. And it only goes down hill after the end during the slow down area.

bert89coupe
10-16-2001, 12:44 AM
happened FFW i guess.

the speedo doesn't bother me.

So I'm looking at about 1.5 hr of drive time...that's not too bad. I should be in for this. :)

Bert, it was good meeting you too. Good luck with your "project." If I can help any...feel free to let me know.

I would deffinitely love to go, along with about four of my friends, but tow of us have big Ford trucks with trailers, not that our cars won't make it, just that we do not like to put a lot of miles on them, esp the tires... So if you do not mind a couple trailer queens and big ass trucks, it's all good... trailer queens are ok though when they run 10s on cheaters... :-)

Bring 'um!

I learned my lesson last time I drove mine to the track. Broke the tranny on the first launch. Luckily there were people that had figured I'd tear it up so they brought empty trailers there and I was able to get it back home.
