Contact Slickster, he has a Ranch Model Ruger Mini 14 that he's selling. If you get it I have some high capacity magazines that I'll sell you (30 and 40 rounders).

On a side note, there's nothing sweeter than having an AR-15 but I do miss my Pre-Ban Stainless Steel Folding Stock Mini 14 :( But my Bushmaster does help ease the pain :D

The Mini 14 is a fine rifle and there is no reason why you shouldn't consider getting one. What are you planning on doing with it? The Mini will make a fine plinker and defensive rifle. Problem the only main problem is long range accuracy and the cost of high capacity magazines.

The Mini has a thin barrel that after fast consecutive shots will heat up and cause problems with accuracy. If you compared the barrel of a Mini and an AR you would see what I was talking about. Wish I had pictures of my Mini to compare with. No biggie as long as you realize what you are getting into. There is a shop in Arlington that does some custom work that I was going to take mine to.

The other problem is getting quality high capacity magazines. The AR has a ton of high caps out in the market simply because of the military surplus. No such luck with the Mini and there are some crappy magazines out there. I have some good ones (which ain't cheap) along with a couple or so bad ones and a bunch of factory 5 rounders.

If you get a Mini 14 let me know and I'll give you a deal on the magazines I have because they are taking up space and I have no use for them.

The Mini 14 is the .223 Remington, your thinking of the Mini 30.

There fun little guns. The Mini I had was beautifull, wish I had some pictures of it. Sorta of Satin Stainless Steel with a black Choate Folding Stock. Only thing I hated about it was that the sights were SS to and they blended in to well with the barrel so it was hard to see sometimes.

Gotta ask you, what's so special about a Preban Colt? I can understand if you are wanting to go with a folding stock but there is not much use for it IMO. Just curious.

yeah i e-mailed him and he said that he had a mini 14 for 400$, i was lookin for the mini 30 i recon because i already have the 7.625 shells from a previous mini 30 i had. like an idiot i sold it. doesn't have to be preban because i'm mainly target practice and having fun with it. thanks though.
