Does this os support multiple processors? any insight would be great. or a lead on where to get a copy of win 2003.

home supports only 1 processor
pro supports 2
2k3 server supports 4 and up (depending on which release)

agh... so back to w2k? or is there a way to upgrade home to pro? i just got my dual p3 mb in and in need of an os that will work with it.

Shaithis you can upgrade Windows XP Home to Windows XP Professional and professional does support multiproc machines.

linux is good. red hat even has a nice easy gui now to install it.
Gentoo is a good meaty version if you want to install it all more manually.
