Yeah it sucks.
I had a Sony CD unit when I got the car. It made a buzzing sound as soon as I turned it on. I thought it was the radio because I checked all the wires hooked up to the factory harness, so I bought a factory used Mach radio & it does the same thing.
Ok, I believe there is a bad ground somewhere but my question is where do I start looking?
Help!

not sure if this will help or not but i worked on one car like this that had a bad speaker connection. the wires that plug into the back of the speaker was where it was. maybe it will help you in your search.

Does it get worse when you drive( louder at higher RPMs). If so try changing your ignition wires. Buddy of mine had a 72 olds 442 and that was the cause of his buzzing noise. Hope this helps if not start searching every where to make sure there are no bad grounds.

Naw, buzzes all the time. As soon as I turn it on. I'll check the speaker connections this weekend. Thanks
Just to let you know the buzzing noise you are hearing is a ground issues with the rear sub amps. There are several TSB's
from Ford on this issue. One common problem is the routing of the wiring harness down the right quarter. The issue with the harness being caught in the retaining clips for the plastic cover. This causes a break in the ground which creates an environment for fuel pump noise transmitted to the sub amps. The other common problem requires the installtion of ground straps for the rear amps.

No Kidding?
I'll have to check that out. Thanks Paul, you may have solved my problem.
I hope I was able to help. Let me know if you are still having issues.
