Why did my search engine change?

2 weeks ago I could type anything in the address bar and it would use MSN to search. Now when I type something there it goes to a website called Globe Finder. :confused:

This is only on my home PC. My work PC is still the same.

sounds like cookies. Try tools > internet options in the IE window..

I'll try that.

Must have been Friday night. That's the only time I've had my car out in like a month. Poor neglected car. :( Did you see how nasty dirty it was?! :eek: Sad.

Open IE and click on View ->Explorer Bar ->Search. This opens a side panel for searches. If your side panel has the animated search character, select Change Preferences and then select Change Internet Search Behavior. A list of popular search engines appears, and you can select your favorite from the list. After selecting Change Internet Search Behavior select With Classic Internet Search.

Some IE's will have a customize button on the top right of the search explorer bar, go there if it does and look at the bottom of the window that pops up and select autoserach settings.

Thanks guys! I did both and it doesn't go to that dumb website anymore, but it's still not right. :rolleyes:

Now if I type in something like "dog breeders" it will look for that exact website. I went to Tools > Options > Advanced and changed it to "Just display results in main window" and I also changed it to the same thing under where Abecx said to go.

you may have some spyware on your PC that acts as a browser hijacker. Try running AdAware from Lavasoft, it will find most of any spyware crap you have and give you the option to quarantine and delete.
