My FFW Street Renegade results - New best 1/4 and 1/8 times! [Archive]

I went out to the track on friday afternoon hoping to get a time trial but running out of time... I had to go straight for 1st round of qualifying in renegade.

1st round: I forget to put my gloves on, and the announcer makes a big deal about it over the PA... my time is thrown out.

with a 1.51 60' time, the car went 9.38 @ 148.

I ended up qualifying with a 9.30 @ 147.7, putting me 6th out of 10 racers.

First round, who should I draw but the Kawasaki green car, Chris Little.

I tried my best, and treed him, but it's hard to tree someone by over a second... lol

Here's the slip... along with my new best 1/4 and 1/8 mile time!

R/T: .082
60': 1.396 (much better than earlier)
330': 3.839 (a little off my best)
1/8: 5.912
MPH: 118.32
1000: 7.714
1/4: 9.240
MPH: 147.44

Chris Little whooped my ass with an 8.375 @ 163.54 (his 1/8 mile time was a 5.40! :eek: )

I was actually quite pleased with my performance on the pro tree all weekend... my lights were: .125, .117, .247 (Zzz), .091, and .082 (getting better!).

Congrats dude! Your car looked good. At least it was Little who whooped ya, never nice to get beat, but not bad to get beat by one of the best.:D

Yeah, you got him good out of the hole Andrew :) I didn't realize that you all drew slots. I would have thought they went by qualifying order. What kind of draw is that :confused: Oh well, like you said, i'm sure you got more in it, but no chute.

On the FFW website they have me down as Allen Werl! LMAO! They got my last name wrong too. I tracked down one of the FFW officials and told him that my name was spelled wrong on the ladder and he said he would take care of it. I guess he didn't... :(

He lost first round to big daddy :( His car just wasn't building any boost off the line and it just wasn't going anywhere until he finally got spooled which was to late. He was off like 10mph in eliminations :(

Yes, they do go in the qualifying order.

In the case of 10 cars....

#1 races #6
#2 races #7

etc, etc... And Little let him leave, to not go red. If you have someone covered by almost a second, you don't try to cut the tree down.

Andrew, your car was flying. Looked really good going nice and straight. Congrats!!

I guess you were able to keep your belt on. What changed. Did you find out they are Directional or something. I only asked because the big cog belts that Danny runs are directional.

idler was out of allignment by .10, got it down to .02.

we did change one belt because it was showing some tooth wear.

if he had not drawn Little, we where going to pulley it up some and try to score a 150mph pass

Well, I didn't think that Andrew was the last qualifier...hence I thought that he would not have drawn Little and the reason for my statement. In all the places I have seen, #1 always get the bottom qualifer for the first race.

They use a sportsman ladder. in this case it sucks, but if they had more cars , it would have been nicer . if there were 20 car the field would be split in half and the slower qualifing cars would race each other , the faster field would race each other and the winner of both fields would go to the finals. the sportsman ladder just sucks when there is a small field.

I heard that one of the Pro drivers got busted trying to use a fake Comp. Lisc. Maybe it was Gullet.

LOL, I guess anything is possible, but I would have a hard time believing it was him since he had won like 3 in a row. I know one of the drivers from pro 5.0 was supposed to start a new import team on the NHRA SCC, but I can't remember who it was. Sorry to get off topic.

Iwas just there with the race car , my car has a broke rear end ,like # 3 i ghess it is time to fix it right. Gullet and several other cars were at another big race like in ohio or somewhere up
north.

Not Gullet. But, it did happen at the Houston race and it was someone here locally. I want say any names but, I'm sure a few of you know who it is. The guy is a good driver, he just needs the proper lisc.

Nope.

Gonna pull the converter sometime this week, have it tightened up a couple hundred rpm. Gonna call Turbonetics and ask them about the wastegate and then go from there.

I need to do some testing before the Turbomustangs.com race.
