Racing bikes at Kennedale questions???

I am thinking of racing my bike out at Kennedale this Sunday (tomorrow). What are the rules for racing a bike there? I have a helmet, leather gloves, and boots. Do I need a leather jacket or will my Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket be good enough?

I'm gonna be nervous the first time at the tree trying to launch this thing. This will be my first time racing a bike at the track.

go launch that shit from some stop lights first, it aint difficult, and will save you from the embarassment of looping or continuosly boging your shit infront of 100's of people.

I am pretty sure a textile jacket is ok, i dont know about kennedale specifically, but i know redline lets you run as long as you have long sleeves and pants.

Thanks for the info Rodney. I didn't make it last weekend because the weather was kinda iffy Sunday. I will get this thing on the track before the end of the season. Since my car is broke I have to race something.

Like rodney said, go out to a deserted road and practice. You need to learn how to ride the clutch...or you are just gonna bog it out. Get a strap for the front end (which we sell!), put a full tank of gas in it to help with the weight, and have fun! It just takes lots of practice....and not getting to aggressive at first. I have seen too many newbies loop it at the 60' marker !!

Remember the guy in Ennis that climbed the tree....lol.

I got my 60' down to 1.81....went 7.01 @ 105.77 with a best mph of 107.19 on a bone stock 600 (599). Talked to Stacey at the Biker bash this weekend and heard he went a 6.4? @ 109 on a bone stock 636 w/ a 1.6? 60' I got a couple tips on launching I am going to try this weekend. ;)

Yep lost second gear. I had just bought some 105 octane and was gonna make my mayden voyage on the spray. I won't have the cash to get it fixed until after th holidays :(

Stacey has gone 6.31 with some hose.....but he 60s like 1.55s on that thing. Dont be fooled....goin fast on a 600 is all about the tricks.

Yellow belly is open on Saturday night guys. Come out to the shop and we can all go out there together. 8pm to 1am sat night. Last week about 300 bikes out there....only gonna get bigger with the weeks to come! Can you say legal street racing? :)
