The rules are simple, Fords must be Ford powered and Buicks must be Buick powered. No dragsters or altereds, doorslammers only. Cars do not have to be Buick or Ford bodied, only Buick or Ford powered. No cubic inch limit and any combination of power adders are allowed. All cars will be required to run time trials, as qualifying placement will be determined by your fastest ET. Upon completion of time trials, cars will be assigned a qualifying number and will race the same number qualifier from the other team in order of slowest to fastest.

The number of races will be determined by the number of cars in attendance, in plain English, if there are 75 Fords and 70 Buicks there will be 70 races. All races will be heads up regardless of qualifying time, if your car is slower than your opponent, you didn't bring enough car! No excuses and no dial-ins, first car to the finish line wins!

Each win counts as one point for your team and the team with the highest total wins.

ALL CARS WILL BE TECH CHECKED!!

FIRST PRIZE

First prize is to be shared by all participants of the winning team. BRAGGING RIGHTS FOR THE NEXT YEAR!! Since all races will carry the same weight in scoring and we don't know how many cars will show up, we really can't award trophies for wins. We will have a nice trophy for the fastest qualifying car from each team. Other prizes will include Closest To Qualifying ET drawn from random heats, the 100th qualifier from each team will receive $100. The 125th qualifiers - $125. A Perfect Reaction Time in Eliminations earns $100.

History of the Shoot-out

This will be the 9th in this series of races. The score is 3 wins for Buicks and 5 wins for Fords.. The first two races were held at Tulsa raceway and since 1997 the race has been held at Thunder Valley.

Rather than creating unenforceable rules, we eliminated the rules and the number of qualifiers. This will give every one a chance to race and have a good time.

We want to encourage all Buicks and Fords to participate. From the pure stock cars on up to super serious racers. Remember, this event is formatted as a Team Effort. The slowest cars can contribute just as much as the fastest. Every win counts one point for their total teams score.

I-35 to exit 108a, Hwy 9 East in Norman 4 mi, to Hwy 77 South, past downtown Noble 2 mi, remain South on Hwy 77 to 2 miles and turn right and proceed 1/2 mi.
