I've DL'd a few movies that are normal WMV, and a few of them have come out to be BIN files. Is there a way I can get them to play?

hmm.. might want to try and use some cd burning software and burn it to a cd as an image...
EDIT: If it is a vcd file... there will be a dat file(s) in on e of the folders.. just copy those to a directory on your computer and rename the extension to .mpg, that should work as well.
might be an image of a vcd or something.. either that or they are just a dummy file

I can't figure it out for the life of me... Shit. I've got the image burned onto a cd, but from there, I'm stuck. I see the DAT files, and renamed them to .mpg, but they still won't play. They are legit files because I have yet to find a dummy file from the source.

I figured it out! I did rename the file to .mpg, but I also had to select the opening program from NOtePad to Media Player. Thanks

It was originally a BIN file. I wrote the Image to a disc, then I got more folders and whatnot. Some of the things in the new folders were DAT files, so I just pasted them into my F:Movies/ and renamed the DAT file to .mpg. From there it wanted to open the file with NotePad, I changed it to open with Media player, then it worked.

VCDGear will make an mpg from a bin file too. Takes ~1 minute.

WinISO will also open bin files, and you can pull the mpeg out of them. I use it because you can also add to iso's or bin files. For example, say you want to back up one of your games ;) Rather than making a cd copy, just dump it to a bin/cue, or iso file. Then open that in WinISO, add any patches, updates, hacks, cheats, whatever. Save the file, then burn it to disc, and viola! You have a copy of your game, so you don't scratch that precious original disc when going to lan parties, and whatnot ... and not only a copy, but a copy that has the latest patches, and shit (at least up until the point it was burned.)
