I've been reading up on all the LCDs that are out currently, and it seems that some of them experience "afterglow" problems with games. Anyone have any suggestions? I was skimming over an article on www.tomshardware.com about some of the new flat panels that are being released, and I'm still a bit skeptical on picking one up. Any help?

I brought this up at the last LAN party and everybody agreed that LCD's haven't gotten to the point where they are good enough for gaming. Wish they would hurry up and get something that works for gaming, I hate lugging around my monitor.

They might get there pretty quick now. This (http://www4.tomshardware.com/display/20030626/index.html) is the article that I skimmed over, and they never really came out and said that the LCDs they reviewed would be good for gaming. Although, there were a few subtle remarks made that would lead me to think that they're almost to the point where they can do both.

WTF are you talking about? My LCD is fucking bad ass with games, I dont have any problems owning anyone in CS or Quake 3, in fact, I can go as far to say, that my LCD is better then my 21" Silicon Graphics monitor. I paid $425 for my 17" NEC monitor.

Good article. I still wouldn't want to be the guinea pig for imerging technology. Probably Christmas time I'll be looking into LCD monitors for gaming. I came real close to buying one a few weeks ago (I was looking at a few models of Samsung flat panels at Best Buy) and wasn't 100% impressed with them at the time.

The dot pitch on a lcd is nothing like compared to a crt, I'll admit, at 1280x1024 looking at 6pt fonts is kind blurry, but who the fuck looks at 6pt fonts in 1280x1024 anyway? Most games run at 1024x768 or higher, and you're not worried about reading small fonts
Cameron, dads monitor looks better then mine and yours ass hat.

Using my LCD on my laptop. Works beautifully. Was playing UT2k3, W:ET, CS, Quake 3 with no problems.
Just need to learn how to play UT2k3, and maybe I'll start getting a few points :D
Not sure what the difference is, if any, between a laptop LCD, and a flatpanel monitor though.
