Hey guys, I just got a boat and am looking to put a decent stereo in it. Luckily the guy who owned it before has already put a second battery in it as well as a battery selector switch.

Visit the link below to see pictures of the boat.

In this stereo I want a cd or maybe even an mp3 player and I want some bass. I don't need it to be heard while wakeboarding or skiing, but I want some good sound. I also want to do this as cheap as possible considering I am a poor college kid. :) As far as components I already have:

1.) a head unit I can use (but suggestions are welcome)
2.) a box that will hold two 8s but one of the 8s is not working.
3.) a four channel radio shack amp (its pretty big but I don't rememeber the wattage.)
4.) a smaller 4 channel amp.

I was wondering what you guys could suggest as far as wiring, amps placement, and speaker suggestions go. While trying to use as much of the equipment I already have laying around.

Thanks and let me know if you need more info.

Just make sure that everything you install the the boat is suited for marine use. Also if you are doing this in a fiberglass hulled boat make sure the install allows for easy removal of the radio when the boat is not in use. Trust me the will save you time and cause you less distress when you jsut want to pick up and go.

The only products really made for marine use are speakers. You can use ANY products you want. Don't be tricked into thinking white plastic makes "marine" electronics special.
