Im stopping use of ephedra products for a while. I test my blood pressure yesterday morn 1 hour after taking some and it was like 133 / 80 I think. I want to kick it for a while and make sure its the cause of my high blood pressure.
I've already been working on road rage for weeks now and have it fairly under control. I feel so much better when I get to work or when I get home than when I did under road rage.
I dont ingest too much sodium, I dont think. Any other ways to lower blood pressure without medication? and I may just be overdoing it as the Ephedra may have been the culprit. I had a great resting heart rate at like 55 bpm on the ephedra.

Kick the habit for GOOD! ephedra can lead to nothing but bad news. My moms friend's son died from ephedra use. He wasn't overloading or anything. He was in his early 20's.

I've been taking it for 6 years. I think there are just some people that have issues with it.
And, its looking like its not causing me high blood pressure. I seem to have "white-coat" high blood pressure. I get an anxiety attack right before taking a high blood pressure becaus eIm too worried I'll have high blood pressure. Its a "performance anxiety" actually.
Either way, yesterday my bp was only slightly less than it was 1 hour after taking ephedra the morning before. But, it was also right after my drive from downtown dallas to home.
Im going to stop and take my bp again on the way to work to see what it is. I've also ordered an ormon wrist blood pressure monitor so I can keep an eye on it at home whenever I want and often. This should really give me a good idea what it is.
If I see my bp goes down to a good number, I'll take ephedra again the next day, and test thru-out the day, keeping track of my bp.
Should be a good test.

It actually sounds like he is being very smart in monitoring his use of ECA. "Fuckin stupid" would be randomly popping pills to get a buzz or to lose lots of weight in a hurry.

Okay fuckin stupid would be being concerned about your blood pressure but continueing something that is medically PROVEN to cause heart problems. If you want lower blood pressure, QUIT taking ephidrine, talk to you doctor, eat sensible and work out!

Hey Shane,
When taking flax oil seed, is it alright to take the pill form?

It's the same as liquid, just not as quick to absorb. Kinda like asking if it's better to eat a protien bar or drink a protien shake.

Everyone has different effects to everything.
My great grandfather smoked a pack and a half of Marlboro Reds a day, from the time he was 18, til he died at 97. Never had a lick of cancer. Tough SOB.
but then again, a good friend of mine's mom had smoked for only 5 years, and has lung cancer.
as long as Shane is monitoring it, or noticing any bad effects it has, he's good to go.
I'm taking Stacker 3 with ephedra, and other than the first three days of jitters, i've noticed no adverse effects.

Grant - exactly what Aaron said. I prefer the non-cap oil because I can mix it in with my shakes. I think its cheaper that way too. About 6 bux for a bottle at Wal-Mart.
And Vibrant, your simply spouting off whats being reported on the news, bad news at that, on ephedra. Go do your research on both sides before coming here and telling me Im "fucking stupid".
Believe me, if its the cause of me having high blood pressure, I'll drop the habit. Simple as that. If not, fuck it. Its worked for 6 years, lets see how I do in 12.

I had to stop taking it. It was giving me anxiety problems (pre-existing condition) and I couldn't sleep well. If I could just control my eating habits I wouldn't need it. Is there anything out there that will suppress your appetite without all the caffeine and speed mixed in?

I have been taking ECA for a little while. I think the stuff is awesome if you use it right. I have read all the reports and what not.
THey actually did a test on 40 patients with the stuff. When they did 6 pills a day ...Divided up. All Subjects had no problems with it after a month of use.
I think there are a lot of ppl out there trying to abuse it.
Thats why you hear bad things about it.
Its always the bad shit you hear...Not the good.

Well, I have anxiety problems without the ECA. With the ECA is magnified. However, I have LEARNED to get that down to a very minimum workable level. It just takes a lot of work and self discovery on what makes you tick.
I've started taking it again after finding out that my blood pressure was mostly high that day and previous test to "white coat" blood pressure and testing after the drive from down town to almost lewisville in rush hour traffic. There was NO signifcant difference from my blood pressure ON eca or OFF eca.
I'll be keeping up with my bp regularly tho to make sure there are no future problems.

Damn, Just cause this thread...I went and had my blood pressure checked out.
I am on ECA right now and they are saying that it isn't high but it is getting there.
I looked up my record and all my BP's show that I am normal. Then here recently its been going up.
I don't know what what means when I look at one...But here are some of the BP's off the records I gotten including the one I had taken yesterday which was...
140/55
Before it has kind of fluctuated...
106/80
154/92
149/70
135/66
What does this mean?

wow. Thats some serious fluctuations.
Who took the blood pressure? Was it a digital machine or the old kind with the stethescope?
I never really thought about it before, but I went to the registered nurse we have here on staff for my BP reading yesterday.
He said he normally has the patient sit down for 5 mins before taking their BP. This helps them settle down a bit for a better reading.
So he took my pressure, which was 128/82. He said that was not high, but High on the Normal BP scale. In otherwords Im fine and within the Normal healthy BP range. Speaking of, Ima go get another reading.
When you had your bp taken, were you stressed out? Just got thru driving? Argument? Any of those can help cause high blood pressure for a while.

Are you taking them all around the same time, under similiar circumstances? I assume same equipment.
Your BP can flucuate quite a bit during the day, what you had to eat an hour ago, how long you have been resting, etc. My usually ranges from about 125/75 - 105/55. Waking pulse is in the range of around 35-40 beats per minute.
The weirdness I see in your results actually isn't the high systolic (the first number), but the difference between the systolic and the diastolic readings. This is called pulse pressure and is an indicator of hardness/stiffness/inflamation of the vessel walls. They think that the greater the difference the greater the stiffness of the walls (although not *proven* yet).
Other than your first reading, the others show a pulse pressure of 62, 79, 69, 85. Which, I would consider high. Once you get over 45, they think that every 10-mm Hg increase in pulse pressure increases the risk of stroke/cardio disease by 10%. But I'm sure you have some time there (I don't, only 5 years!).
Ideal blood pressure is less than 110 systolic and 70 diastolic
Optimal blood pressure is less than 120 systolic and 80 diastolic
Normal blood pressure is less than 130 systolic and 80-84 diastolic
High normal blood pressure is 130-139 systolic and 85-89 diastolic
Hypertension is 140 and above systolic and/or 90 or above diastolic.

I just walk over to the hospital. I usually sit for about 15 minutes and read a magazine.
Would the amount of sleep the night before affect this at all?
My sleep fluctuates quite a bit.
