What have you found are the "borderline" foods?
So far, I've ate alot of eggs, which I know is fine. But, I've started mixing in pace picante sauce, is that alright? It's very low in carbs, so I figured a few times here or there, would be alright. I still haven't gotten into Ketosis, will that make it that much harder to?
Name your borderline foods that are "okay", but you stay away from anyways.
Also, where in the hell is the Flax oil seed at Wal-mart? I've looked twice, and I can't find it.
Thanks!

I found the Flax. I chose the pill form instead of the liquid. Is that alright, or is the liquid better?
Thanks,

never tried the flax seed oil.
but anything is carbs is borderline. The more you take in, the harder it is to get into ketosis.
you think a little here a little there doesn't matter, but every two tablespoons of Pace has, 2 grams of carbs. So just a couple of spoonfulls with every meal, and you have no room for any other carbs. Like cheese even has carbs.

Your supposed to have less than 20 carbs to get into ketosis. Buy the book it will help you far more than anyone on here. FWI my dad's lost 30lbs and counting :)

I've lost 60 and counting...
And actually talking to people works 10 times better than just reading the book

I'm having a big ass bowl of Oatmeal Raisin Crisp with strawberries and about 12 oz of milk at the moment. I don't think that is too Atkins, huh?

I started the Atkins a few days ago to loose alittle around my waist. I have been trying to cut out all bread and pasta and it has been pretty hard. My question is, what do most of you guys eat at lunch time? I am having a hard time eating salad all the time.

I'm on the CKD, but its similar to the Atkins. I go to Burger King and get two $.99 double cheeseburgers and just eat the meat and leave the bread off. Try to keep your fat intake up and get less than 20 carbs a day to stay in Ketosis. You can get the strips at Eckards for $16.00.

do u guys ever think that when u get off atkins and crave ice cream or a real meal, you will gain the weight back like a mo fo? :) Unless of course.. u wanna be on atkins all your life and never eat all the finer things in life and live off meat and cheese LOL.. Oh well.. not dogging atkins.. just think it sucks IMO :p

actually no.
I go off and on all the time.
I never gain more than 5 or so pounds back.
Overeating period will make you gain weight.

well sure overeating will make you gain weight..doesnt mean you have to give up 95% of the foods that are made lol. Foods were made to enjoy..some people will overeat it which is their problem but by no means do I feel someone should be deprived of what they want to eat :rolleyes:I can guarantee you that when I get on my cycle of losing weight, I will eat anything and everything and still be able to lose weight just as fast if not faster than the Atkins diet w/o taking supplements.. and at the same time I will be eating sammiches, snickers bars, fruits, fries, pizza etc  :p

LMAO - Food was made to enjoy? So were drugs!
There has been more and more research to support Atkins... Bobby C, you should do some research. Don't put down someone else because they have found a diet that is working for them...and millions of other people! Every person's chemistry is different - what works for some may not work for others.

few people were trying to sue atkins due to kidney/liver failure due to "malnutrition".. when I find the source, I will post it up. I am not necessarily dogging the diet.. I have had a couple friends that did the diet.. one lost 12 lbs and another lost 90lbs:eek: .. both said it works and u lose weight but they also both said there are so many more downfalls like not being able to eat good when you are out with friends, cant even enjoy a "real" meal, they both lost ALOT of strength..etc. The friend who lost 12 lbs gained every single bit back within 6 weeks cause he was eating normal.. not overeating.. just because his body was so used to not eating good food. I used to be a personal trainer at Ballys for 8 mos and heard all kinds of stories and diet plans people were on.. I never once dissed their atkins or weight watchers diet etc but I did notice that the majority that were on Atkins complained about loss of strength and cravings for normal food going through the roof!!They say carbs and breads are bad? Then explain how Jarod, the Subway guy lost over 150 lbs eating subway sandwiches day and night lol. Yes overeating will blimp you up but you only live once..why not enjoy everything ..in moderation ..all you have to do is get plenty of water and do cardio 3 times a week and exercise:D I gain weight easily so if I go above and beyond on the eating, its over hahaha... I need to send before and after pics.
Sure the atkins diet has advantages like low cholesterol but so can a normal diet.. If the Atkins diet was so "awesome" and "safe", then why is it the most controversial diet in America ? :).. Bottom line.. use what ya want, eat what ya want.. its your body and your health.. you decide on how well you want to treat yourself!
btw..drugs are illegal and kill brain cells and effect your nervous system  :p

Bobby - just for your knowledge - Jarrod had his stomach stapled - but they don't tell you that on the commercials. :)
I'm not saying the only way to lose weight is to cut out carbs...caloric intake is caloric intake, point blank.

Really?! Where'd you hear that? I'm not doubting as it makes sense, but that's borderline false advertising. Then again, that follows the mold of about 99.9% of all diet/fitness ads in existence.

Exactly, calories in must be less than calories out. Period.

Its the most controversial because it goes against everything the FDA and Nations nutritionists have been teaching us for the past several decades. And still gets results with very healthy people.

I wanna know where you got this info from, or proof. Otherwise, its simply a rumour. I'd like to know for fact.

I've done searches now for Jared S. Fogle and I can't find one single response that even has this rumour.

Jared Fogle wants to clear up a few things.
He's alive.
He lost his weight naturally: no diet pills, no stomach stapling.
He has not ballooned to 800 pounds.
The rest is true...
Calories In - Calories Out = Net Calories.
If Net Calories is negative, you lose weight.
If Net Calories is positive, you gain weight.
The rate at which you gain or loss is directly related to the size of net calories.
Although, once you go underneath your Basal Metabolic Rate per day, you will also start burning lean mass.
