View Full Version : New Idea for Fun-N-Grudge

Gran 86 had a pretty good idea on a previous post-Why not alternate track sites for our Fun-N-Grudge races? I am up for going to Denton- (although it sounds like the track was a bit slippery for the high power cars) but alternating track sites would give everyone a chance to go to a track closer to them (without having to drive long distances) and be more equitable for all members. We could race at Kennedale, Redline and Denton on an alternating basis. If the track officials (i.e. Denton) see that they are losing some of the business and have competition for our business, they are also more likely to prep the track good to "keep" the advantage they now have over other tracks. Competition for our business would make for some sticky tracks!
Would this work with everyone? I would be willing to go to all 3 tracks if the alternate track sites idea would be used and my "home" track was included as a fun-n-grudge site......Anybody interested?

Alternating tracks = good
Running KOTH night = good
Saturday racing = bad.

I know this will probably not work for some folks because they have to work but how about having a FNG during the middle of the week. I know that the tracks are not as busy on lets say Wednesdays and Thursdays. Or you could have them on a Sunday if the tracks are open on Sundays.

Yikes- I haven't been to that track since my car was new, and that was 1988! Is it still as bad as it was? That place was rough.

Yes Kennedale is open on Sunday's. And that is the only day I could go, or I could make it out to Denton on Friday's but wouldn't make it till about 12:30am.

So for any plans for Sunday's at Kennedale is cool with me, an where else and I can't make it

<------ it sucks to work 7 days a week :(

Bracket races at Redline will be held on Friday's and F-N-G will be on Sat's! I know that doesnt help now but next year it will be.

well, once denton gets more passes on it, it will hook like an sob. Last week wasnt the best because the new surface had only been raced on a few nights, give it another month or so.

I would only go to denton, or ennis, no other track is near me, and ennis is worth the drive just to get some quarter passes.

Its rough and yea a bit ghetto but as long as I have been going out there I haven't seen any fights or guns or problems.

I was walking around half the day by myself and got more respect out there than I got at Denton on Friday. And my times were even better at Denton..

the class of people is pretty low but they don't start shit with you like everyone tries to imply.

And ALSO .. Denton was hooking just fine for me..

I didnt like the way Denton has their staging lanes. You can't push your car up close to the water box the way it is down the hill and around the corner(ever tried to push a car w/ a spool around a corner?) Starting and stoping or letting your car idle for 5 minutes before a pass is not the prefered way to do it. At Redline you can push your car(by yourself) all the way until it is time to start it to do your burnout...

Also the people that went with me said that you couldn't see but maby door handle up on the cars going down the track when standing by the fence.

On my one n2o pass I only got a 1.42 60ft(usually high 20s to mid 30s). That should get better with time but the other stuff sucked.

Why was the PA guy calling the yellow car sdun? Kind of strange.

Yes Doug (street heat?) not as bad as your problem, but I made not one but two passes w/ the WOT switch not working. Two motor passes w/ 10 degrees timing taken out.On the first on I spun and let a blue zo have a half second head start and nearly caught him my front bumper to his back. My 6.80 to his 7.30 Finally got it fixed at damn near midnight. Raced Brians car(2 Lonestar cars)-me high .90 to his 6.60. Nothing special.

Next month we'll get an earlier start.Maby at Redline:)

Kennedale is open on Sundays and has been hookin glike mad too. They have been opening up with full track prep and then making sure its glued most of the day afterwards. Hell even on thursdays the track hooks great.

Nice to meet you Gran86. I was sitting on the trailer with Jamie (JS12) ;)
