Slowest Ls1 ever produced.kill

Before I start this is in no way a Ls1 bashing thread nor is it a gross generalization. But I was headed home after a hard nights work talking to Oranges10 on the celli and a joker in a Firebird waits for me to come through a intersection then tears ass after me. Now mind you I am in a 96 GTS that is bone stock except for 4.10's and exhaust,(my girls car) even has dirty paper filter, and road race susp.
Now the good part he jumps on me for at least a mile so finally figuring out this is a ls1 and not a 3800 I knew I needed an advantage. So right after he quits jumping and puts it in 3rd I nail it and jump out 2 cars, it takes him from 40mph till nearly 90 to catsh back up to the back of my door, when I apply the brakes(read bitch race). We go from a dead stop and I put about 4 cars on him. Then he comes flying by and lets off I try to catch him and he hits the gas again, I hit it about a car and 1/2 back and pull to his bumper and stick till around 90ish again, then he jumps all the way down northwest hgwy. and back down to buckner then tries to catch me again and race down buckner.

I read the thread DUFUS and I am still of the opinion that it was a V6 or someone playing a very cruel trick on you.

Assuming you aren't BSing, an excellent driver with a NA stock motored Fox body w/ bolt ons is putting out less than 250rwhp and barely getting into the 12s. If you haven't ran into a 12 second LS1, you've been extremely lucky or selectively choose your races.

My 89 5.0 is fairly stock and I wouldn't consider it fast but it has and will beat LS1's again. Not talking trash but I ran better E.T.'s and same MPH as Garceeya's T/A @ Denton friday. Yes, I was on 245/45/17 street tires no drag radials. But as we all know a lot has to do with driver error. I believe a stock LS1 should be able to beat me and most all mustangs in stock form but it doesn't always happen that way.

Im dont wth this 1/8 mile crap....My car is not set up for it. I need som 4:10's if im gonna run 1/8. I was racing my freind Esau and he beat me 1 outta three times.....he was running 84 mph and my best was 89.16.
