My battery (Champion 950 CA) is about on its last leg, and I'm looking to get a new one (or two). I have a 130A alt that is only 7 months old in the car....should I get a conventional battery (such as the one I currently have) for the car (starting etc) and an additional yellow-top Optima for my system. I will be running around 800 W RMS but I have a 5 farad alumapro cap. So could I get away with just one conventional battery (for starting and the system) or should I do two (one conventional and one Optima)? Any recommendations, is this overkill? What about just 1 yellow top to take care of all my needs? (The battery(s) need to last at least 3 years total).
