You can binge and throw up.?
Calories Consumed - Calories Expended = Net Calories
If Net Calories is a positive number, you will gain weight.
If Net Calories is a negative number, you will lose weight.
Simple as that.
If you want a "cut up" look, then you will need to watch what you eat, when you eat it, and in what quantities (calories).
If you want to lose 10 lbs and just want to lose 10 lbs, eat what you want, just follow the above formula.
If your weight is constant at the moment, adding 30 minutes a day of walking/running or an hour of cycling will add 300-400 calories to the "Calories Expended".
300x7 days = 2100 calories or about .6 lbs
In one year, you will have lose 31 pounds. Not changing anything about your diet (assuming you aren't still gaining weight under your current diet).

my weight goes up and down by about 10-15 lbs. Mostly because of my eating habits go up and down. Right now I'm taking Stacker II with Ephedra. I need to get more excersize though I guess.

He asked about diet, not exercise, though.

problem is, that often times you lose muscle as well as fat...
I would rather lift weights for 30 minutes with minimal rest time between sets in order to keep the heart rate up and actually BUILD muscle while I do my "cardio" than BURN muscle... the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism, the easier it is to burn fat.
'course, I've got a fuckin' beer gut on me so what do I know...

I've been on the "Sugar Busters" diet for about a month now, and am down 18 lbs!!!
It's a low carb diet like Atkins, but not as restricitive. Got about 40 lbs more to go. Gotta go eat a steak now..............

Not true at all. As long as you keep your calorie deficit to about 500 calories a day you will be fine. Most bodybuilders do 30 minutes or more of cardio 3-5 times a week. Losing muscle from cardio is an old myth. It still works.
"He asked about diet, not exercise, though."
Actually, he never specified. He asked, "Is there a substitute for counting calories and sticking to a strict diet??? Damn it's hard for me to stick to a diet!! Is there a way to shed weight and eat what you want (within reason)??"

You are actually 100% correct. I did mention cardio, though. :D
You could probably kick up the 500 cals a day to a 1000 calories a day without losing any muscle. As long as you supply your Basal Metabolic Rate and your cardio is in the "aerobic" zone, you'll be fine.

Yes, bitter old fawk. I was supporting your good advice. Some people can easily support a 1000 cal. deficit. Just have to experiment with it.
Get a tapeworm .
Seriuosly, you don't have to necessarily count calories, just
don't overeat ,and watch WHAT you eat . Stay structured during the week, eating 4-5 times a day, same time similar portions.
Take the weekends off. Avoid simple sugars, keep complex carbs
and saturated fats low, and do cardio.

I going to be doing cardio 3 times a week (cycling....I guess that's cardio) and I'm getting a weight bench to do weight lifting 3 times a week. We'll see how it goes.
