View Full Version : Need to come back! Diet advice needed.

Here's my situation... I work nights (2100-0600). I'm blessed with the priviledge of having a gym at my work so I'm there during my lunch hour. I usually work out at 0330.
The problem is by the time I get home I am craving carbs as if I was a pregnant woman on an angry binge. At times I eat 4 egos, a bowl of cerial, 2 glasses of milk and maybe a couple of pieces of toast.
The good thing is I have been able to gain incredible strength by doing this. I mean.. stronger than I've ever been in my life even when I was working out 2 hours a day (but back then I wasn't eating right either... as in just not eating at all since I was more interested in loosing fat than gaining muscle. :rolleyes: ) but the bad thing is I go to sleep right after I eat and loosing fat just isn't happening.
Does anyone have any kind of diet advice that can curb some of these carb cravings? What kinds of foods should I eat throughout the night before/after I work out? I'm 6' and weigh 250lbs right now. I should be at 200lbs w/ my present physique but would love to be in the 220lb w/ an acceptable body fat count before I die!

will power... haha, just force yourself to do it. eat some eggs and a glass of milk and go straight to bed. maybe get some of thoes 'carb solutions' health bars and down one or two of those. as far as i know, there isn't really a way to stop carb cravings except some good ol' will power.

i usually just give in to the cravings... what can i say, im weak :)

Usually, a craving is because your body requires something. By the time it gets to craving stage, you will over eat.

Take some fruit to work with you and eat a couple of pieces during your shift. See if you can't balance out your blood sugar levels so that you don't go into craving mode.

Right now I'm in the habit of just not eating when at work. I'll try and bring some things and see what that does.
