This guy here at work says he drinks Redbull alot and uses it like an energy pill to lose weight.

Is this possible? I tried some again for the first time, in about 3-4 years. I still hate the taste and the way it makes my stomach feel, but is what he's saying possible?

Maybe the sugar-free red bull.

The regular red-bull has about 120 cals in it for 8ozs.

The only thing I can think of that would have weight management properties would be the amount of caffiene it has.

At a 1.99 a can, it would be cheaper to eat a Vivarin in the morning.

The sugar-free tastes better then the regular IMO but I only drank it with jager so I dont know... I guess it could be a pretty expensive dietary supplement

A friend of mine distibutes Red Bull. The story behind Red Bull is kinda cool. The main ingredient that gives this drink its punch is Taurine, so the story goes. Taurine is an amino acid. A man visiting Hong Kong became aware of Asian people popping pills everywhere he went. He always wondered what it was they were taking. Ended being Taurine. Supposedly the taurine has to be mixed with exactly 8 ounces of water for it to be effective, thus the reason for the size of the can. Anyway he decided to market the drink and is now making a killing. Supposedly this drink sells more than cola's now.

I drink a Red Bull before I work out. The negative thing is that it does cut down on the amount of oxygen that goes to your blood because of the caffine.

I find that a little hard to believe being Pepsi Bottling sold about 8-9 billion dollars worth of bottled sugar water last year.

Doesn't matter if its 10 cents a bottle or 1.99 a bottle, 8 billion dollars is 8 billion dollars.

Outselling Coca Cola 20 ounce, I can believe.

For all you Red Bull addicts... Sam's Club has a case of Red Bull for $29.87 (or something like that). About 1.25 a can.

Some Race Trac stations have great deals on red bull.. I;ve got some as low as 24.99 for a case. I love red bull.. i started drinking it at clubs late in '97 and then just got hooked. I like it for the flavor and dont really know if it gives me much energy if at all. I like the sugar free as well but it leaves a taste after taking a drink. As long as red bulls are chilled, they are really good.

Out of all the other energy drinks, only one that comes close to RB is Monster X..its a black can with green writing. Its actually a 16oz can I believe and only 1.99. Not as good as RB but really close and tastes great when chilled :)

Austrian Dietrich Mateschitz is worth $1.3 billion dollars. He made it in the Forbes Billionaire club this year. Not bad for some kick ass marketing and a sugar drink with Taurine that sells for 2 bux.

I remember rep's for redbull would go everywhere and just give the stuff away. They have special vehicles that have collers in them and they go around handing them out. Don't know if they still do that though.

I found this new energy drink called XS that has 0 carbs, 8 calories, 2g of protein, 0 sugar and it actually tastes REALLY good. They have several flavors, one is a raspberry tea, another is a cran-grape, and another that tastes like mountain dew (my fav). If anyone is interested, I can try and hook you up with a sample.

yep.. I think they will be doing that lot more in the summer.. usually reps driving a X90 Suzuki with a big ol red bull model can sticking out from the rear. If you look at the license plates, you will see that all the X90s are from California
