Almost caught me a R1...

Well I went out to the spot tonight, and was supposed to race some Turbo GTI, but couldn't find him. He got drug by a friend's Vette anyways, so it wouldn't have been much of a race.;)

I was going to run three wide with Sam's R1 bike and SCC327, and we lined up, I heard one honk, and then they both took off.:( I sat there like a dumb ass taking up a good lane to race with. Aw well, I catch up with Sam again about 3 miles up ahead, and we line em up.

We have perfect equal launches from about 60 mph. He leaves me HARD till about 90.:( (2 cars) When I hit fourth I stop him from pulling me, so I stay in it to see how I do. Top of fourth comes along, and he is still about 1.5-2 cars or so ahead of me. I take it to about 7,100, slam fifth, and stay in it. About 2 seconds later, I am biting at his heels. Sam told me after the run he could see my lights out of the corner of his eye, and looked at the Speedo and it was a tad over 175. He let out, and I stayed in it for about 15 seconds. I have never had my car that fast before. It felt awesome. I have no clue how fast I was going, but it was WELL over 175. I looked back about 20 seconds later, and there were 0 cars or bikes in sight for over a mile. That was pretty cool.:D Guess my new tune paid off. If it didn't let anything loose at 6,000+ in fifth, it should be pretty safe.

Good run Sam! That bike is a screamer! Maybe we can line em up sometime when I get some race gas, I think it would be almost dead even through fourth.:o

I dunno:( He stripped out one of his bolts on his blower for the tensioner, so when he raced he was unsure about it holding. My bet is it was slipping whne he raced Sam the first run and headed home as to not totally shread the belt, and to not beat on the car running 50%.:( What I saw was it looked like Sam had him by about a car, maybe two up to about 120ish, and then I stopped paying attention, so I think Wes and I would be damn close. His car hauls ass!:o

Between the first race when you sat there and our REAL first race me and Wes ran again from about 75 to 150 and didnt get a chance to see how close he was to me.I know it was close but I dont think he was close like you Matt.

I took about 4 seconds to go from 75 to 175 and there aint much time to think about what your going to eat the next morning,but I sure said to my self about 10 times "dammit Matt dont fukkin catch me" "aww shit I can see the lights".I was as far down on the bike as I could get to try and keep the wind in my favor a little more.At one point I think I was actually under the bike.

Get some race gas and lets see what happens past 150.
Im going to lower the bike this weekend hopefully it will help at higher speeds.

LOL, yea that was a ton of fun. I haven't been that jacked up on adrenaline in a long time. Don't take this car up that fast, and it was deffinitely a rush. What is cool is it was so damn stable. The sway bar keeps the car incredibly flat, and there is almost no lift at all. The Steeda wing deffinitely paid off. When I take my dad's Vert over about 130, it feels like its going to slide off the road. My car felt as stable as the Porsche I was telling you I have hit almost 2 bucks in a few times. Of course my car was a little louder up that high.:o Had a blast last night, will deffinitely be out next week, "if" I didn't break anything.:(

Your R1 wont go 180....you dont realize how much your shit is off at high speeds like that. Piped zx12s at maxton barely run 190....some dont make it there.

Sam, doesnt your R1 have a pipe? Oh, then its not stock. And what is so track bike about the zx12? It can be ridden everywhere yours can, only faster. Lap of luxury is chillin in the AC with the trailor out back....

I rode my bike there and told him to give me a few passes to get used to the new clutch then I would race.I said "9:15" to see if he was paying attention since he was looking at the gound like I was King Tut....he wasnt....He still said ok we'll race then.

Then he left???

Why would a lighter bike (R1) with similar power output to a ZX12 and a MUCH lighter frame, not do similar speeds flat out?

I mean even if the Ninja has like 40 hp on it, isn't it like 100-200 lbs heavier?:confused:

Sam, you told me the guy that sold you your bike told you it dynoed 147 to the wheel. He also told you he had it mapped right? With no PC on it? Im getting my dyno soon, I will dyno your bike, if it makes 147+, the dyno is free, how about that! :D

I am getting the dyno soon. Yosh EMS is the same as a pc. You can map with PC software and upload to the EMS. Its pretty darn simple. I will be able to to full maps for any fuel injected bike with a PC or yosh box. I will be able to dyno tune carbed bikes also with jet kits but not to the extent of a fuel injected bike, but you already knew that :) I will hollar at you guys when I get it all setup...
