F-Bodies Representin' at Denton Tonight!

I think I saw six F-bodies racing at Denton tonight and not a one of them broke 9.5. LMFAO!!! All of these cars must have been built the Friday before Labor Day weekend. I saw one poor guy (I use that term loosely as he is probably still paying on the $25K+ loan) in a 2000+ white T/A run a 10.20 and then back that up with a 10.57. Hell, I think my 2001 GMC truck could run that. I wonder which one of these F-Bodies was JS12 as he was supposed to show up with a video camera and tape our run for all to see. :rolleyes:

On the Ford front, Andrew is knocking on 5 second’s door. StangTamer said he was changing his name to StainTamer as he did a masterful job of not shitting his pants as he watched Andrew run.

There were four nice looking Fox body coupes running mid 6s, several running 7s and I ran a personal best on my 245/16 Nittos. I met STROKD and watched him run 8.40s at 101mph. :eek: Damn, that car is fast, but Matt, you can’t drive for shit.

I ran a 66 Chevy II one time and destroyed him. God, I hope that was 66 Deuce! Fun night but the condensation was running off the roof of my car.

Are you ashamed of your times from the track ? Every body else goes to the track and post what times they ran. All you can do is talk about how good or bad everyone else ran.

I do drive a Fbody. And trust me, I dont mind people posting up slow Fbody times. All of them are not fast and there are plenty of owners that cant drive for shit. I'm giving 302PAF a hard time because of other post he has made. Just like in this post where he makes it sound like he and JS12 had comitted to a race when in fact they never did. He is one those guys that likes to put down other people and other makes of cars to try and make himself feel better. You know, your typical person with low self asteem.

Yeah, I will have to admit that Andrews first pass scared the shit out of me.lol I thought the clock said he ran a 5.41, so I took a double take and saw it was only a 6.41 (thank god).:eek: It was a nice turnout. I had a good time. Hopefully I can have my car out their at the next one.

it was a fun night.
we did not get to make a pass in the beast till 11:00 or so. i had to run home and get the starter off my hoopter to get andrew's junk running. i will let Andrew post up his times. he was generous enough to let me get a few pass' in, which BTW that car has some fucking power. neither of my pass' where meant to break any records or to beat Andrews times, which i doght i could anyway.
first pass, i left at maybe 3000, it got loose as shit, so i let up, got back in it a couple times same results. andrew said i was way out of the grove.

i came back around and made another pass, it felt better, i think i left at about the same RPM and just let it come out of the hole, then i slowly rolled into it, i got maybe 1/2 to3/4 throttle.

All in all i had a great time, ran pretty good, and cut a decent 60 with a 2.04x on one run. My runs wernt my best ever, but they were in the ballpark. In my "grudge" match with marcus, 1st run i got out of the gates early, then promptly got run down a few feet later, and could NOT fetch at the top. 2nd run we left pretty even, with him powering his way out front hard, but i started to fetch, but it will too little, too late. Great note to end on!

hey, driving your junk home and not breaking is always the first goal. you ran damn good on street tires. i was very happy i was out mph'ing you. the little 97 makes some descent power. you need some slicks ryan....bottom line. trust me when i say racing is sooooooo much more fun with slicks.

I dont post much, I usally just read entertaining post like this one. I happen to respect Mustangs and pretty much any performance car. I also respect other car enthusiast. You dont see me on LS1.com counting the # of slow Mustangs I saw at the track or referung to people as "Mustang Types" .And just for the record I had to put a lid on my LS1 to run a 8.54:p

It is so funny to see people who just can only think one kind of car is good. The reason I love my car is because no one else has one. There are fast stangs out there, fast LS1s and just about anything else that you can imagine. Just to go to the track and come back just to bash people that probably don't post here and you have no idea of their driving skill just seems a bit much. I watched two different guys in Cobra R's at Ennis run 13.8s and 14.2s all day long. I don't think it had anything to do with the cars being a POS I think it might of had more to do with the skill of the drivers, but that's just me. :rolleyes:

It was good meeting you too 302PAF... Yea, my car was a hoot last night, I got it running its best ever, but 17" Nittos + Road Race suspension + sway bar = sliding around lots.

It felt like I was driving on ice compared to no sway bar + E/T Streets... Damn I miss my slicks already:( Time to find me some new wheels and tires, that was a god damn joke... I ran 3 8.4s from 98.5-100.5, all different techniques, all different launches. The last one was not full throttle till 3rd gear, which helped the traction situation, but dropped my mph a lot.

On a side note, last time out I ran 8.0-8.4s @ 96-99, so with a worse 330' and worse 60' I gained about 5 mph...:D I guess the 40 something HP is showed I picked up on the dyno was a little low.:o

Yes, I know I can't drive on 17" with a sway bar, but hell, I don't see anyone else with close to 800 hp driving in a road race car doing any better? Just pretend I have a Supra...:p

He had 600 RW? I don't think he had that much power on motor... besides, I am much slower the more power I add, so I think there is a law of deminishing returns somewhere... lol

Figures there would be some fast cars up there the w/e I don't get to go. Last w/e sucked ass. Last w/e there were around 4-5 LS1's in the low 7's, with two runing high 6's....think your buddy JS12 was one of them.

Hey now, don't rub it in!!!!

My car was off last night and I am still trying to figure out my launches. With the new clutch the car bogs worse than before so I am playing with tire pressure and RPM. finally got a 1.76 60' but that is a full .1 off my best and my average WAS 1.70.

Best I could muster last night was an 8.54. My problem is I have lost some MPH from mid 82 down to 79 and 78????

I think I need to investigate the plugs and see if they are fouled from running rich. the car runs great on street tires, but with slicks is labors.

There was a couple of 99+s there last night running Juice and one of them kept trying to get Marcus, Ryan and myself to line up.....he got a serious surprise when I busted his ass with the little silver bitch. He was fetching HARD but I tree'd him and ran .15s quicker which gave me a .4s advantage at the line.

I also raced a Purple VW bug that was a surprise!!! He ran an 8.69 but was running me down!!! It was right hand drive and the guy was playing some kind of staging game and making me wait. Had he been on slicks, I would have been embarrassed!!!! That was one fast VW!!!!! Beware of the purple bug!!!!

All in all, good night and got to practice with the new video camera. I will try and figure out how to post since my computer doesn't have video input.

From what I've seen the average modular is 9.0 and slower, while average ls1 is between 8.4ish to 9.3ish depending on the year. Now the 5.0s there all over the place.

Typically when we talk stock modulars, we are referring to GT's and NA cobras.

I don't see why you Ford guys even care about this whole F body vs. Stang argument, hell you got about two more years and you won't see a an F body at the track except on rare occassions....how many LT1 cars do you see? how many 3rd generation cars? Extinction is right around the corner!

js12 please tell me you are not the dumb.... your car was on slicks and your an auto with a stall.thats why you ran a 7.54 with 357hp.....my cobra ran a 7.7x on nittos with the stock irs and a 6 speed. what would the time be with a strait axel/slicks/auto/stall?????

by the way my car stock ran 8.93.after tires and pulley it ran 7.7.

my z28 in 1998 stock ran 9.3 with the paper tags still on the car.
with a lid,bolt on's,nittos,and a 100 shot it ran 7.6x stock heads and cam.

you do agree that you have a very fast not cam only ls1? i have nothin to prove.i have my 10.xx time slip that does my talking for me.i have a 7.1x time slip for the 1/8 mile as well. i don't have any excuses if i run into you i'll beat your ass just like i have every ls1 i've race at the track.......when we raced at the street races i had a new shifter and i missed a gear and fell back two cars and still fetched on the top end without my nos...only two losses ever on the street to a ls1 that was gregs vette and david z28 with him spraying.i did not have the spray at that time...:eek:
