Those tires killed your ET! Thats almost a 2.3 60. I would think it would go 14 flat or just above with traction.

I was spinning a lot...
I didn't want to burn the tires a lot, that's useless on street tires. I basically just cleaned them off and spun them for a second or two.
BTW, with me in it (185#), it weighed in at 3250# with everything in it, no weight mods.
I think that is about average...
This was also my first time down the 1/4 mile.

What the hell was racing you?
I would say you have a 14.0 easy if you get the 60ft down.

I think a 14.0 would be respectable for the mods, right?
BTW, I was racing a rail car, go figure. Well, it wasn't a full blown rail car, but it was a rear engine jobber...basically a rail car with a shell on it.
I also ran a 2004 dodge viper, it went 11.85 with a K&N kit on it, and exhaust. I believe that was it.

lol, I was thinking the same thing. Shawn, you would be suprised what a little dry spin can do for street tires. I used to have a friend that actually sprayed VHT on the ground and did a light burnout in it on street tires. Actually worked, (2.0's on 265/50/15's).

I was doing the light burnout dry, I drove around the water.
No VHT though ;)
What's the best bang for the buck when it comes to sticky(er) tires? I dont want slicks on it, but drag radials or something like that would be do-able.
I think I've officially 'got-the-bug'. I have never been down the 1/4 mile before tonight...I've just been turning wrenches the whole time I've had a stang...
Thanks!

BFG's man. I pulled 1.7's and pulled the front tire on em, and a friend of mine pulled 1.6's, on some 275/15 dr's. Or nittos, they last longer but they don't stick as well.

Who has the best deals on BFG DR's? I can't get them from Lane, I'm in San Antonio (ducks and misses the anti-spurs rocks that are being thrown at him). ;)

I bought mine from discount tire a while back, but I don't think they sell em anymore. Maybe mail order? summit racing?

I can usually pull 2.00 60foots on my 17's street tires but my best 1/4 time was 14.02 at 101mph (I need a BOTTLE) and I have clase to the same mods

102mph with the same mods?
That's hard to believe, list your mods.
If they are the same, you've got a 'freak'
Do you have pullies? That is one thing I am lacking that will make a fairly noticeable difference, or so I've heard.

Shawn Ive done my best time when my car had 3;55 h-pipe and ram air (stormen norman cervine hood) sense then I put perfermer rpm intake, 70tb, 75ma, 24s, 190pump, and I cant get the son of bitch to run right, It boggs on me when the car is around 200 degrees and the cel light comes on once in awhile on top of third and fourth. Not really sure what it is yet but will figure it out soon, oh and my susp. is more set up for road race when I get the dam thing lined out I'm shooting for 13.80s on street tires (just maybe) and it was 100.78 to be exact
