These used to be live rocks for reef setup...now they are just dried up...good as base rock...lots of crevices...nice pieces.

I have about 130 lbs of these...if you are interested we can cut a deal...cheap. Need these stuff out of the garage.

Thanks.

Can these be reused as live rock after they have been dried out like that?

a rock will regrow its bacteria and after a while in a well established tank it will start to grow some good coraline algea, providing that you have some rock in there that already has some:D

These was 4.99/lbs since I bought bulk over 100 lbs...high quality live rocks goes as high as $12.00/lb

Just like 70*Chevelle said...with good water quality and plenty additives bacteria will regenerated.

I would suggest these rocks to be used as base then add the good stuff on top.

I building a shop in my garage so want these out.

I know that stuff is expensive. Was that all in your 65 gallon tank?
I have a 30 gallon that I was thinking about setting up as a saltwater tank. I may get a 100 gallon to go with but it wont be saltwater. I dont know if those rocks could go in there or not.

What part of Dallas are you in? Have any pictures? I am familiar with Texas holey rock.

Expensive...tell me about it. When the economy was good I was sinking 100-150.00 per week for live corral and stuff. Hell the sands used was even live ($50.00/15lbs bag).

The rocks will work in either reef or fish only setup.

These used to be Marshal Island live rocks...never heard of Texas Holey rocks...of course I have not been in a fish store for 8 mths.

the holey rock is popular for african cichlids because it helps to keep the ph levels up and it also has the crevices and holes like the live rock does

So thats what I was familiar with. It does an excelent job with the ph. You can make a lot of nice caves and stuff with it. They sandblast it to get holes in it too.
