I was wondering what could put behind it to keep it from rattling when I'm listening to the radio?

Why go to all that trouble when there are easier solutions designed for your specific problem?

We used to stock the Dynamat license plat kit and it works well because the plate fits into the frame and is held with tabs. Then, dynamat extreme goes on the tag and foam goes around the edge. They work well but most customers complained about the big dynamat logo on the frame.
Just put a small piece of dynamat extreme on the back of the tag and get some foam from home depot to go around the back edges.

You could do what I did was take a peice of dynamate and stick it directly to the plate and call it good. It solved my problem with a rattle in the licens plate, that way you don't have to have a dynamte licens plate frame on your ride. I just got a scrape peice from a freind who had some left and fit perfect on the plate.

do what you want, but foam mounting tape is MUCH cheaper.

or you could just turn your system up

If you use dynomat, all you need is a small peice, I put a peice about 2" by 4" and now the plate sounds like a peice of cardboard when you drop it ( sounding like cardboard is good, that means its working!).
