351 install question

my 1990 stock 145k mile motor has started a serious blowback issue and is running pretty tough. would it be cheaper to rebuild it or install a good running 351 from a friend that i can get for 400 bucks with about 15k on the rebuild (plus conversion kit, i know). Also it is carbed. Should i leave it that way if the 351 is the way to go or go efi? oh, it is a 1982 351...

Depending on if you can get some good deals on all of the conversion parts. If you have to buy all of the parts new it will be cheaper to just rebuild the 302.

There is no replacement for Displacement, however, is the 351 turnkey? If not, you have quite a few bucks for intake, distributor, Carb if you dont have one, etc.
The 302, you can find a bottom end for $250 bucks ready to go. Depends on how deep you are wanting to go into the project of course.
