The new Taurus Police Model 85 is what you get when you fit a concealed hammer on the popular Taurus Model 85 Ultralite Titanium. A snub-nose .38 Special rated +P for duty use that you can carry all day in an ankle holster or the small of your back, and never lets you know it's there. Taurus UltraLite Titanium revolvers have forged titanium barrels with high tensile strength stainless bore liners. Titanium is much more elastic than steel. This makes it extremely durable, but this very elasticity means an all-titanium barrel will not hold rifling. Their high tensile strength stainless steel-sleeved titanium barrels solve that problem, retaining the weight advantage and corrosion resistance of titanium, and permitting the barrels to be ported.

I have a S&W 642 Airweight, and I know someone who has a couple of the Taurus guns either exactly like, or very similar to the one for sale.
I was very impressed with the Taurus. I would not mind it over the S&W one bit.
Both are very nice guns, the Taurus is a tad bit larger than the S&W.
